Broader Voices was founded in the Fall of 2017 by Speech-Language Pathologist, Vocologist, and Actor Shannon Broadwell, M. A. CCC-SLP. Broader Voices, PLC is dedicated to habilitating voice professionals of all ages.
How do you know if you are a voice professional? If you use your voice for work or play, then YES! Actors and singers are just some examples. Other voice professionals include: teachers, lawyers, doctors, nurses, coaches, cashiers, pastors, telemarketers, cheerleaders and many more.
This private home clinic - conveniently located in Brighton Township - offers an intimate setting to grow your skills as a communicator. Shannon also offers onsite training such as workshops, seminars, lectures, group and one-on-one coaching.
Broader Voices offers a variety of services that enhance communication skills. Sessions are available in half hour and hour length and are primarily located on site. Skype, in home sessions and workshops are available per request.

Shannon Broadwell, M.A, CCC-SLP is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist, trained vocologist and professional actor.
As a Speech-Language Pathologist, she has worked in hospital, outpatient, skilled nursing, school and home health settings. In these settings, she helped individuals with a variety of communication disorders but her passion has always been voice disorders. This led Shannon to continue her education in the growing field of vocology where she studied to work with professional voice users.
Shannon graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Central Michigan University in 2012. She completed her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) from the #1 ranked SLP program at The University of Iowa in 2014.

In 2017, Shannon graduated from the Summer Vocology Institute through the National Center of Voice and Speech. While in the program Shannon gained in depth knowledge about the biomechanics of the human voice, instrumentation related to voice habilitation and an emphasis on therapy and teaching techniques specifically designed to help voice performers. During the program she studied vocal sciences under the instruction of Dr. Ingo Titze (above, right), world-renowned founder and former President of Pan American Vocology Association, PAVA
Shannon has worked professionally as an actor for more than a decade on stage and screen. She is a graduate from Barbizon School of Modeling in Detroit and the Gately-Poole School of Acting Summer Intensive. Shannon won the Catch a Star Award at the International Modeling and Talent Association competitions in 2006 and placed as a top new actress. She was also awarded the Irene Ryan award for her performance in the title role of Shivaree. While living in Los Angeles, Shannon studied improvisation at Second City and Voice Over acting. She continues to attend classes and conferences across the country in acting and voice in order to learn the newest and most beneficial techniques for her clients.
